Caring for an Elderly Society – delegation to China, November 21-26th
Swecare and the Swedish Trade Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, the Swedish Embassy in Beijing and the Swedish Consulate General in Shanghai, arrange a delegation trip to China headed by Minister for Children and the Elderly Maria Larsson.
Chinese government faces great challenges with a population pyramid marked by declining birth rates and increased life expectancy combined with higher demand for public services. Authorities are gearing up for this and investments in elderly care are high on the agenda. Due to these facts, the delegation’s main focus is issues related to aging, including assistive devices and solutions for people with disability.
The participants will be given opportunity to visit two strategic important areas of China; Beijing and Shanghai. Through a mix of meetings with key stakeholders from national and local levels, study visits and seminars, Swedish companies have the opportunity to present their solutions and build a foundation for future business with Chinese actors from both public and private sector.
